Vietnam Opening with Flying Starts On Day 1

Chon Buri, 20 December – Day 1 of the SSL Gold Cup Asian Qualifier got underway today with nation-against-nation racing in Pattaya. Team Vietnam showed strong pace off the starting line in light northwesterly winds, delivering one of the best starts of the opening race. 

“We had strong starts in both races because everyone committed fully from the line. The whole crew hiked hard, and our tactician gave clear guidance on trim and positioning. That teamwork helped us launch well from the start.” shared Nhung Tran (Vicky), Jib Trimmer for SSL Team Vietnam.

Challenging spinnaker handling moments tested the team across both races, yet Vietnam kept pushing in tight fleet battles to finish fourth in both races.

Close calls and unforgettable rivalries marked an intense opening day. Buckle up. The battle has only begun.
